UPPER ARMS
If upper-arm fullness makes sleeves feel tight or keeps your arms from looking as defined as you would like, arm liposuction may help create a more balanced contour from shoulder toward elbow. At BodyLuxe, treatment is tailored to your anatomy and performed with tumescent local anesthesia while you remain awake and able to communicate.
Arm liposuction at a glance
- Focus: localized fat that contributes to fullness in one or both upper arms.
- Anesthesia: tumescent local anesthesia numbs the treatment area while you remain awake, with individualized medication when appropriate.
- Planning: Dr. Farrugia evaluates fat distribution, skin recoil, symmetry, and your desired change before mapping the treatment area.
Creating a more proportionate upper-arm contour
Arm liposuction reduces selected fat beneath the skin to refine the upper arm and its transition from shoulder toward elbow. One or both arms may be considered as a targeted FormSculpt treatment.
FormSculpt is BodyLuxe’s tumescent local-anesthesia liposuction approach. FormSculpt 360 describes coordinated midsection planning, so the arms are evaluated and quoted separately.
What arm liposuction can—and cannot—change
The goal is a more refined, proportionate upper-arm contour when localized fat is a meaningful part of the concern. Your examination helps identify what comes from fat, what comes from skin quality, and what comes from underlying anatomy.
Refining localized fullness
Selected fat beneath the skin can be reduced to improve proportion along the upper arm and the transition from shoulder toward elbow.
How skin quality shapes the result
Liposuction removes fat but does not remove loose skin. Skin with good recoil may settle more smoothly, while significant laxity may call for another approach. Liposuction also does not erase cellulite or guarantee perfect symmetry.
Matching treatment to your anatomy
If loose skin, previous scarring, or another anatomical concern is driving the appearance, Dr. Farrugia will explain whether another treatment or a staged plan is more likely to help.
Could arm liposuction fit your goals?
Your consultation begins with the change you want to see. Dr. Farrugia then evaluates your anatomy, skin quality, health history, medications, prior procedures, and goals to determine whether arm liposuction is likely to create a meaningful improvement.
Arm liposuction may fit if
- Localized upper-arm fat remains a concern while your health and weight are stable.
- Fullness from fat is the primary concern and your skin has enough elasticity to adapt after contouring.
- You want an individualized improvement and understand that one arm, both arms, or staged treatment may be considered based on your anatomy.
When we may recommend another approach
- Loose skin or another structural concern contributes more to the appearance than fat.
- Your health, medications, nicotine exposure, prior procedures, scarring, or proposed treatment extent changes what is appropriate for you.
- Your primary goal is weight loss, substantial skin removal, or another change that liposuction alone cannot provide.
What to expect from consultation through follow-up
Your visit begins with a conversation about what bothers you, how clothing fits, and the change you hope to see. Our team will help collect your health history, photographs, and routine information and will support you throughout your care.
Dr. Farrugia personally evaluates you, determines whether arm liposuction is appropriate, designs and marks the treatment area, and performs the procedure. He and the BodyLuxe nursing team then guide your recovery and follow-up.
Recovery and return to your routine
Recovery varies with the treatment extent, body size, health, work, prior surgery, and any combined procedures. Early on, soreness, bruising, swelling, firmness, temporary numbness, and possible drainage from the small access sites can occur.
Your written instructions will cover compression garments, incision care, activity, and follow-up. Return to work depends on your job and treatment plan, while strenuous activity resumes after clearance. Swelling and sensation changes can last for weeks or months as the contour continues to settle.
The contour is often easier to evaluate around three to six months and may continue refining longer after extensive treatment, prior liposuction or uneven swelling. Individual results vary.
Safety, risks, and clinical support
Expected temporary effects include soreness, bruising, swelling, drainage, firmness, numbness or altered sensation, and temporary contour distortion while swelling settles.
Arm liposuction is surgery. Possible complications include bleeding or hematoma, fluid collection, infection, delayed healing, scarring, pigmentation change, persistent swelling or altered sensation, pain, contour irregularity or asymmetry, under-correction or over-correction, residual fat, loose or irregular skin, injury to the skin or deeper structures, medication or local-anesthetic complications, blood clots or cardiopulmonary complications, the need for additional treatment, or a result that does not meet expectations.
Before you decide, Dr. Farrugia will explain the risks most relevant to you, the steps used to reduce them, warning signs, alternatives, and the follow-up plan.
Personalized pricing and financing
Pricing is based on the treatment area, anatomy, BMI, and other planning factors. After consultation, your written quote explains exactly what is included.
Eligible clients may use Cherry Payments or CareCredit to pay over two years with zero interest. Terms apply.
Questions patients often ask
Can arm liposuction help me lose weight?
Arm liposuction is designed to reshape localized fat beneath the skin rather than treat obesity or produce weight loss.
Will I be awake during treatment?
Yes. BodyLuxe uses tumescent local anesthesia so you remain awake and able to communicate while the treatment area is numbed. Medication may be used for anxiety, pain control, and comfort when appropriate.
Are the arms part of FormSculpt 360?
No. FormSculpt 360 plans connected midsection areas, while the arms are considered as a separate targeted treatment. Your consultation and written quote specify exactly what is included.
What if loose skin is part of my concern?
Liposuction can improve arm shape by removing fat, but it does not remove loose skin. Your skin quality helps determine whether liposuction alone or another approach is more likely to create the improvement you want.
Can both arms be treated?
Both arms can be considered when appropriate. Dr. Farrugia evaluates symmetry, anatomy, health, and prior procedures before recommending the treatment area and extent.
When might I return to work?
Many patients with desk-based work return within several days to about one week, while others need one to two weeks or longer. Physical work, extensive treatment, and combined procedures generally require more time.
When will I have a clearer sense of my result?
The contour is often easier to evaluate around three to six months and may continue refining longer after extensive treatment, prior liposuction or uneven swelling. Individual results vary.
How is pricing determined?
Pricing varies with the treatment area, anatomy, BMI, and other factors evaluated during consultation. You receive a written quote after your individualized assessment.
